This has been yet another busy week for us, and it started off with a bang (and a long-anticipated visit from Uncle JC and cousin Aiden). Luke
adores his older cousin, and he spent most of their visit following Aiden around, mimicking his actions and words, and clobbering Aiden with unrequested (and sometimes unwelcomed) hugs.

Luke woke up a full hour earlier than normal both mornings that Aiden was here - as if the thought of missing one moment with Aiden was just too much to bear... Of course, Aiden is a mature five years old now, so he was happy to continue sleeping as long as possible - which wasn't long at all, considering the racket a certain toddler was making in the kitchen at 6:30am... and the occasional "visits" that toddler made to the living room to see what the hold-up was with Uncle JC and Aiden. (JC tells me that the first morning, Aiden leaned over to him and said, "Doesn't he know we're still
sleeping?")

But it was a really good visit, complete with trips to see Memaw and, of course, a day at the zoo. You may have seen us at the zoo Tuesday - I'm just assuming you were there because apparently 98% of the world's population (including every. single. elementary school) chose that day to visit the Fort Worth Zoo. My sister Caroline (Aunt Bobo) said at one point that she might have preferred to be in the cages with the animals rather than walking around like sardines with the massive hoards. But we survived - and enjoyed the time in spite of it all.

Proof that I was There.
Larger than some of the animals and slower than the sloths,
but present and accounted for. |
